Riskified Partners with Outpayce from Amadeus to Bring AI-Powered Fraud Prevention to Airlines

Travel merchants processing high-value airline transactions have a new ally in the fight against fraud. Riskified, a leader in ecommerce fraud and risk intelligence, has partnered with Outpayce from Amadeus, a global travel payments orchestrator, to bring AI-powered fraud prevention and chargeback protection to airlines and travel merchants worldwide.

The partnership integrates Riskified’s fraud detection suite, including its Chargeback Guarantee model, directly into Outpayce’s travel payment platform. The goal is straightforward: help carriers approve more bookings with confidence while reducing the financial and operational burden of fraud.

Why Airline Payments Are a Fraud Target

Travel bookings present a unique risk profile. High ticket values, frequent card-not-present transactions, and the attractiveness of travel bookings to fraudsters create what Riskified describes as a “perfect storm” for elevated fraud and chargeback rates. A recent Riskified analysis found that flight bookings over the past year were 14 percent risklier than the previous year.

Fraudsters continue to find creative and sophisticated ways to exploit gaps in airline policies and processes. For carriers in high-risk regions, chargeback volumes often create significant financial and administrative challenges.

What the Partnership Delivers

Through this integration, Riskified becomes the first chargeback guarantee solution within Outpayce’s ecosystem. Airlines gain access to AI-decisioning technology that creates revenue predictability through guaranteed defined approval rates, while reducing complexity and the cost of fraud management.

“By partnering with Outpayce from Amadeus, we are giving airlines the confidence to grow their business, secure in the knowledge that every transaction is protected from fraud,” said Max Meister Admoni, Global Head of Partnerships at Riskified.

Vasken Tokatlian, VP Partnerships at Outpayce from Amadeus, described the collaboration as a step forward in helping airlines combat fraud more effectively. “We are expanding the choice available to airlines worldwide, equipping them with additional tools to reduce fraud losses, lower operational costs, and deliver seamless, secure payment experiences,” he said.

First Merchant Coming Online in 2026

A major Asia-Pacific international airline will be the first merchant to go live with the integration in 2026, paving the way for additional implementations with other carriers seeking to enhance the traveler experience with advanced AI capabilities.

The partnership is designed to serve airlines executing on growth strategies and managing variable risk profiles. Every airline stands to benefit from increased accuracy in fraud detection, an intelligent and adaptive checkout flow that maximizes bookings, a reduction in manual reviews, and the peace of mind that comes with Riskified’s Chargeback Guarantee protection.

What Travel Merchants Should Know

For operators in the travel space, fraud prevention is no longer a back-office concern. As booking volumes grow and transaction values climb, the cost of a single fraud gap can ripple across chargeback rates, operational overhead, and customer trust. This partnership signals a broader industry shift toward embedding intelligence directly into payment infrastructure, rather than treating fraud management as a downstream fix.

Travel merchants evaluating their own payment stacks should pay close attention to how AI-powered fraud partnerships evolve within the Amadeus ecosystem and beyond. The integration of guaranteed approval rates with end-to-end payment orchestration could set a new standard for how the industry thinks about risk and revenue in parallel.
